NYFW 2015

"Every year the women of New York leave the past behind and look forward to the future ... this is known as Fashion Week " - Carrie Bradshaw ( Sex and the City )

NYFW  finally started on 11 February . people get anxious and excited , but some of them don't really know what fashion week is , so lets  demystify it !

What is Fashion Week ? 

   Is when the industry's top designers present their upcoming collections in a series of runway shows and presentations . 
   It happens twice a year ( once in February and once in September ) , generally lasting 7–9 days . 
   The designers always show collections from the season ahead , for example , in the NYFW on February , designers show the collection of fall 2015/winter 2016 and on September of 2015 designers will present the collection of spring summer 2016 .
   
The history of Fashion Week ?
   NYFW began  in 1943 as " Press Week " at the height of World War II . Press Week was a success, and fashion magazines like Vogue , which were normally filled with French designs, increasingly featured American fashion.

How long is the runway show ?
   The actual runway show can run from 10 to 20 minutes . An average of 30 to 40 looks / outfits will be shown by models walking down the runway . The most famous model always closes the show .

Who get invited ? 
   Fashion editors , retail store buyers , fashion bloggers , industry influencers , friends or clients of designers and , of course ... famous people . The celebrities in the front row are present to promote the brand .
